Dothound is reader-supported. Some of the links on this website are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase or start a paid subscription — at no additional cost to you. You pay the same price you would pay going directly to the vendor.
What this does not change
Our editorial opinions are not for sale. We recommend a product because our testing and research support the recommendation, not because of its commission rate. Specifically:
- Commission rates never affect whether a product appears on Dothound, where it ranks in a comparison, or what score it receives.
- We regularly recommend and link to products that pay us nothing, including free tools and open-source software, when they are the right answer.
- We do not accept payment for reviews, “sponsored rankings,” or guaranteed placement. Any content that is ever commercially sponsored — which is rare — is labeled as sponsored at the top of the article and is not presented as an editorial review.
- Vendors do not review, approve, or see our articles before publication.
How our links work
Dothound uses link tracking to measure which recommendations are useful. Outbound affiliate links are routed through redirect URLs on dothound.com (for example, dothound.com/go/product-name) and are marked with rel="sponsored nofollow" as recommended by search engine guidelines. Our tracking records clicks in aggregate; it does not collect payment details, and we never see your card information.
Purchases and account data are handled entirely by the vendor under their own privacy policy and terms.
Cookies
When you click an affiliate link, the destination vendor — or the affiliate network acting on their behalf — may set a cookie in your browser so that a resulting purchase can be attributed to Dothound. These are marketing cookies and, where required by law, they are set only with your consent, which you can manage or withdraw at any time via our cookie preferences. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work normally.
Programs we participate in
